Hi all,
I recently took the official GMAT practice test but I wasn’t able to finish all the problems in Quant, Verbal, and IR. My score was a 380. I actually only managed to do 11 of the problems in quant and got 3 wrong. Verbal and IR was the same more or less, though I probably did 2 or 3 problems in IR. I’m hoping you could advise as to whether I should retake the practice test or wait till I’ve done some preparation. I started the targettestprep course today and my target score is a 750+, which seems like a far cry from my first attempt. My plan is to take the GMAT within 12 months. Any advice would be appreciated!

Consider using time markers for time management.
Carefully decide when to do Official Mocks. Fair to say they are the best mocks out there in terms of representing what you'll see on an actual exam. There are only 6 available, however. You may want to save 1 or 2 in case you retake for any reason.

The main thing you can do to speed up in answering GMAT questions is prepare effectively since skill in answering questions is what will enable to answer them quickly.
So, you don't need to retake that practice test. Your move is to proceed with your preparation and count on naturally getting faster as you learn.
Also, at this point in your preparation, you should be less concerned with speed than with precision and accuracy. Your first order of business is to learn to get questions correct consistently.
