Wanted to get some advice from the GMAT club on how to improve on my GMAT score overall.
I have taken 6 practice tests till now and below is the score:
1 GMATPrep Q27 V19 400 (Without preparation)
2 GMATPrep Q44 V30 610
3 Egmat Q32 V33 540 (Missed to answer about 5-6 questions in Quant)
4 Veritas Q45 V28 600
5 GMATPrep Q42 V29 590
6 MGMAT Q38 V34 590
Few pointers to help you analyse the situation:
- None of the tests I have managed to finish the section in time (few tests even didnt have time left to guess so it went as not answered)
- Have completed MathRevolution & egmat courses till now and not done much timed practice. I keep solving Scholaranium questions as per which I am at a 60-70% accuracy level on overall Verbal.
- For quant I have started solving practice questions from Math Revolution's practice section and have about 80% accuracy
- During a test I am not able to apply the concepts right away and sometimes spend upto 4 mins on a quant question (which couldve been solved in 2.5)
- I have not touched OG till now. Feeling like that should give me a good boost
My target score is 720+ (Preferably 740)
Let me know what you guys think, how I should improve my preparation and during test ability?

To start, raising a 400 to a 600 in 3 months is a fantastic improvement - although you will have to focus on new approaches to pick up the additional 120+ points that you are after. Many Test Takers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems.
Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) From our prior discussions, your original plan was to apply to School this summer after you had hit your Score Goal. That timeline has clearly changed; what are your current application plans? Are you currently thinking about Round 2? Would you apply at that time even if you did not hit 720+?
2) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?
