Studies show that families in which both the husband and the wife are working normally tend to be single-child families. It is commonly understood that such partners prefer to have only one child because of the lack of time on their hands to raise more than one child. no i don't think B is the correct answer. the second boldface portion is not the actual position taken by the argument as the answer choice suggests. it is a premise on which the position builds upon, as shown by the word "Since".
