Hello GMAT Club,
Just found out about GMAT Club and am really excited to see all the community resources available here. As you might have figured out already, I am a GMAT noob. I just (as of this month) started thinking about b-school seriously, and consequently about GMAT also. As a first step I downloaded the new GMATPrep software from mba(dot)com to see where I stand. I haven't started preparing at all, not even refreshed by basic quant knowledge or gone through any materials. I am on a sabbatical from college for a year to work in a startup. So haven't done any studying for the last one year.
I managed to get 660 on the Practice test 1 with 43 on the Quant and 38 on Verbal. I made some silly mistakes on the Quant (more to do with being exhausted and attempting the test at 4am in the morning and wanting to get over with it as fast as I can

). I am confident I can avoid these mistakes by paying more attention and improve my score my refreshing my high school math concepts like probability and geometry. I didn't go blank on any of the question, which I felt relieved for.
As for Verbal, I think I will need practice and with that I am confident I will do better. I read a lot (even though I am a Comp Engineering major :D) including the likes Economist (which I try to read from cover to cover) and New Yorker. So I am pretty adept at skimming.
Now, what I am hoping to get advice on from the awesome people here is a study plan. I haven't gone through ANY materials yet, not even the official guide. So I don't know if the "Get Over the 700 Hump GMAT Study Plan" applies to me So if some of you awesome folks could recommend me some essential reads too, that would be great! I am planning to take my GMAT in September, just after I get back to college. Unfortunately I cant't put too much time during the week, due to my work stress. So I want to start early as I will be doing most of preparation during weekends averaging 6-8 hours a week max. I am aiming for 750 and the only schools I am applying to are Harvard and Stanford; and I need to make up for my dismal GPA due to my side projects

I would truly appreciate any advice or even admonishing from enlightened GMAT clubbers.
