Hi,
I have been following the GMAT tutor from Economist. I like it and have completed around 55% of the course. I did take a SIM test and scored 710. (50 in quants, 38 in verbal). I feel I can improve in Quants as well as Verbal (from my test de-briefing, I did some easily avoidable mistakes in Quants. On verbal, I was weaker on CR).
I am looking to supplement my study with other material now and also progressing through the Economist GMAT tutor. Here are some of the lines on which I am thinking to supplement -
- I really like the concept flash cards / summary that Economist GMAT tutor presents on the home screen of all the topics I have covered. It's easy to refer back to a particular concept(s). However, I would like to do some questions after reviewing these. I am looking for something to supplement those.
- At times, I want to study but not Economist GMAT tutor as they teach new concepts. At times, I just want to practice.
What are the other books / materials that I can use. I really like the questions on forums on GMAT-Club, but I want to save them for some time later when I am done with the full course of Economist GMAT tutor.
I got the Manhattan Math study books, but I don't think I will go through them as it's repeating the content / concepts from GMAT tutor. I am more looking to practice questions (of all levels and not just harder ones).
Any advice?

2) Have you taken any other practice CATs besides the "SIM test" that you listed?
3) Have you taken either of the free CATs from www.mba.com (and if so, then how did you score)?

I have been studying for a month. The only studying that I have been doing is the Economist GMAT tutor for the last one month.

No, till now I have not taken any other tests. I am planning to take the other SIM tests from GMAT tutor as I progress through the course and then take the other CATs that I can. Does that make sense?

Last week of October 2015.

I am not sure on this - but the idea is to start applying as soon as I am done with my GMAT. I did a little bit of research and some of the schools I want to apply to have their first round of applications in January.
The advice that I am looking for - What should be my study plan apart from GMAT tutor. Here's what I have been thinking (please let me know if this sounds okay or would you suggest changes) -
1. Finish the GMAT tutor course (till at least 90%).
2. By this time, take 2 more SIM tests.
3. Start working through Kaplan 800.
4. By the time above is completed, complete the GMAT tutor and the 2 other SIM tests. (All SIM tests are now over).
5. Work through the three Official Guides
6. Take the two GMAT prep tests.
7. Go through GMAT prep study collection (this comes with two more tests I think).
8. Take the free CATs from Kaplan, Manhattan, GMATClub and Grockit.
9. Revise the above material till the GMAT.
I do put in 3 hours everyday on weekdays (after work) and around 7 hours on weekends so I think I have good enough time. I maintain an Error log of the questions that I get wrong while working through the GMAT tutor. I make sure to revise the error log and the summaries from GMAT tutor once every two weeks to reinforce my learning. Also, I know that the general advice is to take the GMAT prep test before start studying, however I think that I would like to mimic the real GMAT and take the GMATPrep test after studying so as not to waste it.
I posted this question before I had made the above study plan. Please suggest if you think any alterations might be helpful.
