Good morning,
I am unsure as to whether I should submit my GRE or GMAT scores for my business school apps. I'll try to keep this short and sweet (emphasis on try):
GMAT
Took the test twice. Scored a 700 (90th) [47Q (73rd) 40V (90th)] and a 720 (94th) [43Q (64th) 46V (99th)]. If I submit the GMAT, I will submit the 720 and use the optional essay to highlight my higher quant score. On a side note, I am applying to Dartmouth and I know that Tuck considers the highest section scores.
GRE
Took the GRE on a whim this past weekend (how well-rounded am I?) and did pretty well--167Q (96th) 164V (93rd). One thing about this test that I hope will help make the answer to my question easier. First, the 167Q matches up to an 800Q on the old GRE (max possible), while the 164V matches up to a 650V on the old GRE, for a total score of 1450.
The Bottom Line
There is little doubt in my mind that the schools I am applying to (all top 20; most are top 10) favor the GMAT despite the fact that most accept both tests. That being said, the top schools emphasize quantitative performance, and my quant score on the GRE is significantly better than either of those I got on the GMAT. Thus I find myself in a quandary...
So, once again: which score should I submit?
Thank you immensely for any help!
