I'm in a sticky situation - just took the GMAT for a 2nd time to try and up my score before deadlines in January, and while I've improved my score the Quantitative section has taken a hit.
For context, I'm applying to various MS in Business Analytics/ Marketing Science programs which are all very selective (e.g. Duke MQM, UCLA MSBA), which all emphasize the importance of quantitative skills. My first score was a 665 with 91 percentile in Quant, and the 2nd test was 685 with only 76 percentile. Verbal reasoning and data insights were both in the high 90s which brought up the overall score.
I've got decent grades in math/ econ classes from my undergrad that can show my skills in these areas, but I suspect the Quant section of the GMAT is what most of these programs are looking at. The programs all say they look at the highest score so even if I send both I don't think they'd pay attention to the stronger Quant score from the first test.
Any advice on what to do in this situation?
