I'm currently 28 and I've been trying to apply for an MBA for awhile now, specifically from USC Marshall. Aside from their career resources, strength in marketing, and large focus on soft skills, the philosophy they implement about networking and supporting one another is definitely the environment I want to surround myself in. I strongly believe that USC is the ideal school for me.
I've consistently scored within the 690-720 range on my practice tests but for the actual GMAT I've always scored much lower. I'm embarrassed to say but I've taken the GMAT five times with the scores, in this order, 510, 540, 590, 610, and 640. I want to say it's a case of nerves that has made me score so low.
With that I'm wondering if I could get some of your thoughts on applying for the third round this year with my 640. I recognize it's low but at least it's within the 80% range of GMAT scores that USC has accepted for 2014.
I would like to address my score in the optional essay where it asks "Please provide any additional information that you believe is important and/or will address any areas of concern that will be beneficial for the Admissions committee in considering your application." I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance, everyone.
