Hi abhiyansingh,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) On what dates did you take your 2 Official GMATs and what were the Quant and Verbal Scores for your 2nd attempt?
2) How long did you study before each attempt? How many hours did you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far? Did you take any other CATs/mocks besides the ones that you listed (and if there were others, then what other “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?)?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Is Princeton Review a good source for Mocks?

Might want to purchase/do the Official Mocks from the mba website. They are the best out there. Carefully use them, however, since there are only 6.

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC

Please find my replies to your queries below:-

1) On what dates did you take your 2 Official GMATs and what were the Quant and Verbal Scores for your 2nd attempt? Ans:- I have attached a screenshot for your reference.

2) How long did you study before each attempt? Ans:- Didn't study much before any of the two attempts. I did go through the type of questions which are being asked at the exam and solved 20-30 Verbal & Quant OG questions.

How many hours did you typically study each week? Ans:- After my 2 disasters, I would say probably 6 hours for the whole week.

3) What study materials have you used so far? Ans:- I have just used TTP for the Quant section and Princeton Review for the Verbal section til now.

Did you take any other CATs/mocks besides the ones that you listed (and if there were others, then what other “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?)? Ans:- No, I haven't taken any other CATs.

4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? Ans:- I have attached a screenshot for your reference.

5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? Ans:- I was planning to apply now (after giving my 3rd attempt) but due to my injury, my plans got derailed. I need to prepare and give the GMAT asap. The top 20 B-schools are my target.

Dear abhiyansingh,
I would suggest to take TTP because its well-structured study plan and unique approach already have helped me to ameliorate my Quant score. Weather you need to recall some concepts or practice weakness areas TTP study plan can guide you to do so.

BLTN - That's really personalized advice you got - look you even changed the poster's name - that's really high touch
I am not sure why you are doing this but it is inauthentic and not helpful for the community.

Dear community,

I am a non-native (Indian, 28 M) GMAT aspirant who has attempted the GMAT exam twice (GMAT 1- 430 & GMAT 2- 570) and both the exams were a disaster as I have also been a good student in my school and college lives but somehow I took the exam without much of preparation as I believed in my capabilities and I was overconfident too. After two back-to-back shockers, I started to study seriously and then gradually increased my Mock scores (Mock scores are attached for reference).

But a few months back I got a backbone injury which made me quit my studies as I was almost immobile. After my intense physiotherapy, I am now almost back to my prime state and I was hoping to kick start my studies. So, as you all might have noticed that I am particularly weak in my Verbal sections and that is what I think is hampering my overall scores. I would like to know to which GMAT prep company should I enrol for my Verbal preparations and from where should I take GMAT Mocks. Is Princeton Review a good source for Mocks? What should be the frequency of taking Mocks? Is my target score impractical?

Any tips/suggestions/ guidance would be a boon for me!

Thanks!

Hi abhiyansingh

There appears to be wild fluctuations in the mock scores shared by you. I would recommend you to go for an official mock instead of third party mocks. Official mocks are the most reliable ones as they are believed to be the closest to the actual GMAT. Based on such score, I would be happy to help you with the study strategy.

Meanwhile, you can check out how Heeral, a non native speaker, improved her score from V27 to V40 and scored a GMAT 720 while working full time:
