Hi,
I took my gmat after a year long study and got 570 (Quant - 42 , Verbal 27)
From ESR:
CR - 64th
RC - 60th
SC - 25th
I was able to manage time well for Quant (followed
Manhattan prep suggestion - having time remaining mentioned on bottom of pages 8 min increments for each 4 qns)
I did not follow anything for verbal and messed up with timing. After seeing 3rd RC, i thought no more RC, and final 7-8 questions had to rush
From Verbal ESR
First - 88% correct 12% incorrect
Second - 43% correct 57% incorrect
Third - 43% correct 57% incorrect
Fourth - 38% correct 62% incorrect
my study materials
Manhattan in person class completed early 2017
Official Guide ( completed 75% all quant practice questions, 60% of verbal practice questions) and supplement guides for quant and verbal (50%)
Manhattan guides
CR bible
Empower GMAT
Egmat verbal
Math Revolution (did not complete more than one section)
Some of the quant questions in exam seem to be very familiar but was unable to start/finish
Verbal, Sentence correction seems to be my biggest weakness. I tried
egmat but may be because of my way of study, it did not help.
Here is some background information about me, I am a 38 yr old male (moved to USA from India 10 years back) working in technology department of a major bank. I got my masters in CS from University of Chicago part time few years back. Now I am considering a part time MBA either from University of Chicago Booth / Depaul. Some extra hours/weekends are expected for work like most finance jobs. Not sure if a 100 point increase is possible for me in couple of months by either private lessons / online courses. I am wondering if
Powerscore SC and Reading Comprehension guides can help as their CR guide was of great help.
Average score for Depaul evening mba appears to be 570, so I could try that if the score improvement does not happen.
Thanks
john
