I'm not sure what you did the first time to try to get the sum.
Do you mean that you used the general formula for an arithmetic series. i.e. \(\frac{(First term + Last term)}{2}\)* (number of terms)?
As you note, the algebraic relation between first and last terms, given in the prompt, is 4(x)=10+(2(x+4)).
Do you mean that you tried to plug in the algebraic relation between the first term and last term INTO the general formula?
In this way: (\(\frac{1}{2}\))* [4x + (2x + 18)] * (3)?
