suppose the first integer is n, the next n+1

n+(n+1)+(n+2)=3n+3

(n+1)+(n+3)+(n+5)=3n+9....

3(n+1); first even integers 3(n+3)

so pick any value of n,. say n=1, then sum is 6, then sum of the first even is 12..which is 2S

1+2+3+....+n = S
2+4+6+.....+2n = 2(1+2+3+.....+n) = 2S
