That would be too early to give up, if your startup idea can't last till the summer, it's probably not the best idea.

Usually people take a VC or maybe working for some startups during the summer while continue working on their own startup ideas. There is nothing prevent you from taking a finance or consulting job for internship.

Hi skahuh

Please allow me to expand the parameters of your question slightly.

Emerging leaders like yourself who would like to learn from (and add value to) entrepreneurs that have founded social institutions that better society may want to consider participating in our MBA-level professional group, USA Leadership Corps.

USALC structures part-time volunteer nonprofit and small business strategy consulting projects for emerging MBAs who desire to strengthen their leadership, consulting, entrepreneurship, and/or community-involvement backgrounds. Our website: www.usaLeadershipCorps.org

Our 3-month, part-time 'internships' can provide a great learning experience regarding the challenges of launching & growing a small business.

Thank you & good luck.
