I am planning to switching over to finance industry and pursue a career in finance. I am an engineer with nearly 4-5 years of experience. Based on my initial research I think my options are either doing a MBA with focus in Finance or do a MS in Financial Engineering or pursue a engineering management program focusing towards finance.
I live in NYC area so going to schools around the area will be my first choice which then limits the choices for school I can go to
1. For MBA - Columbia & NYU Stern
2. Financial Engineering - Courant, Columbia , NYU-Poly, Baruch
3. Engineering Management from Columbia
Obviously its tough to get into MBA schools, Looks like best options are to get into NYU Poly, Baruch or into Colubia Engineering Management ...
Does anyone know how these programs are and what are the prospects of getting into the industry especially in this economy.
