Hi,
I got 690 on my first attempt which was a week ago and I am taking GMAT again in 10 days. My weakest was SC and now I am practising questions from GMAC and verbal Review guide. But I don;t know how to ensure that I am making progress or if I am using my time wisely? What can I do?
I am keeping an error log, and reviewing the thing I got wrong each time.
I finished the e-GMAT verbal course and us using the methods from it, every question takes me around 1 : 30 min which is too high for SC.
Any advice is helpful.

Hi HrithuOlickel,
Good job getting to a 690 in your first attempt. You surely have the potential to get to a 740+ score. To get an improvement plan for the next 10 days, I recommend you e-mail us at [email protected]. Since you are our student, you already have a dedicated mentor assigned to you. Your mentor will look at your Verbal course attempt data (Scholaranium data, Stage 1 learning data, and SIGma-X mock data) and, based on the analysis, will provide a hyper-specific study plan for the next 10 days.
We will also teach you how to track the improvement for the next few days.

1:30 is not really too much time to spend on each SC question. While it may make sense to spend less than 1:30 on some SC questions, spending 1:30 on average is actually about right, and many people score high on verbal spending much more than 1:30 on each SC question. So, if you want to get through the verbal section faster, you might be better off learning to answer CR and RC questions faster.
Regarding how to know whether you're making progress, your practice question accuracy is a good indicator of your progress. To score V38+, you need to get at least around 75% of the medium and hard questions you see on the test correct. So, good benchmarks to shoot for when practicing are 90%+ on medium questions and 70%+ on hard questions.
You could first achieve those benchmarks untimed, and then seek to speed up to test pace while maintaining those accuracies.
To achieve high accuracy, any time you miss a question, determine why you missed it - knowledge gap, execution issue, etc. - and seek to address whatever issue you discover so that it doesn't cause you to miss questions going forward.
