True. This sounds similar to a friend of mine who got a question on Harmonic Progression on the gmat back in 2007. Nowhere have I seen people discussing anything beyond A.P and G.P and even he was caught unawares at that time. He got a Q50 in maths though. As Barney suggested, I suppose u never know for sure what the gmat is going to throw at you!

Edit: I just noticed I mentioned 'Q50 in maths' above:)) Wonder if anyone got a Q50 in verbal!
