Hello Experts/ Friends
I aim to take my exams in mid December, 2020. I started my preparations 5 weeks ago. In my first mock test I took, before I started my preparations, I scored 620;
Quant: 47 and Verbal 28. I am targeting for a score of 750; Quant: 50 and Verbal: 42. Verbal section has been the nightmare for me and I am working hard to achieve my target verbal score.
After I had thoroughly covered the concepts of SC and CR sections and practiced questions from different other sources, I attempted the questions from OG 13-21. Please check the scores below.
Below is my performance so far. Quantitative values are in column sequence, left to right; Header: Sub 600, 600-700, 700, All
CR #Question attempted 50 40 50 140
Accuracy% 94% 90% 62% 81.4%
SC #Question attempted 50 50 50 150
Accuracy% 90% 88% 56% 78.0%
SC+CR #Question attempted 100 100 100 290

I don't want to advance to the RC and Quant sections without knowing whether my current score indicates that I have reached near to the target scores in the SC and CR sections each.
Can you please let me know where I stand against my target Verbal score and what all difficulty levels should I improve by what accuracy percentages each?

Hi Rashmikantjha,
Working through sets of practice questions in a book can help you to hone skills, but there's no practical way to define how well your studies over the last 5 weeks have helped you to improve until you take a NEW, FULL-LENGTH CAT/mock. As such, I suggest that you take a NEW CAT sometime soon (perhaps this weekend) - and make sure to take it in the same format in which you will take the Official GMAT. For example, if you plan on taking the At-home GMAT, then the 'format' of that Test is "fixed" (Quant, then Verbal - with no break in-between, then an optional 5-minute break, then IR). If you plan to take the GMAT at a Test Center, then you can choose your section-order, but you will likely have to wear a face mask (so you should wear one during your CAT). Once you have your Score, you should post back here (or you can feel free to PM me directly) and we can discuss the results and how you might adjust your studies going forward.
Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) Have you used any other study materials besides the OGs?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

620 is a good place to start with before you start with your prep.
Difficult to answer your question. The accuracy rate is definitely important but you need to complement that good timing and stamina under exam conditions. Standalone accuracy for easy and medium level questions is good but try to make a note of the errors and learn from your mistakes. The general rule is as far as possible try to get the easy and medium level questions right so that the algorithm throws difficult questions at you.
Also, don't keep the RC section for the last. Try to do two passages a day on a daily basis. Also for a Q50, you need to be aware of the various kinds of traps and for that, you will need practice. Allocate your time wisely.
