I am going to enroll at an EMBA program later this year and I'm trying to do some homework on tax treatment of tuition fees. I know several people currently in EMBA programs that have treated the fees as a business expense or as an employee expense that is not reimbursed by the employer. And I also read that this has been eliminated by the tax-cut bill that was passed in late 2017 (the irony...). If you are halfway through the MBA program, I'd be grateful if you're willing to share your experience, and also to hear about what you plan to do for 2018.

The tax code is complicated! Do you have your own business or no? I hate to say it but an accountant would be best here. I can tell you what all of my clients do but your accountant would know your situation best. Do you do any side consulting projects outside of work? This can help.

Best,
Scott
