I submitted my Tepper app just a week ago, and today I got an interview invite! Quite inspiring :)

I wonder if there is a chance for live interview with a local alum, or I'll have to do it over the phone with adcoms. Not even sure if phone interview is that bad: at least they won't care about dimple on my tie

Great going!! Well 'm an R1 applicant and 'd a nice personal interview but from what i have heard, the phone interviews have also been good. Tepper interview are very informal and casual. All the best mate :-D

One piece of advice for phone interviews:

WATCH HOW LONG YOU TALK!

I interview a lot of my hires by phone, and they all tend to ramble. I think it's because they can't see me giving them the "yeah, ok, good answer" head nod, so they talk and talk and talk.

Just had this one at last :) First interview for myself, quite an experience. The guy was very friendly, we did some intro chit-chat, and I felt he's trying to set up a friendly talk. He had my whole app at hand, but said he didn't have time to actually read it attentively.

He then asked several pretty standard questions, like "talk about your career" (I made it a fairly detailed story built both on my feelings and professional growth), then I pushed a "why MBA" up his mouth and responded before he even asked :). I did talk about Tepper and why it appeals to me as well. Then we discussed leadership stuff, I mentioned team management experience, rambled a bit about how fed up I am with all the bullsh*t talk in my company (as a response to "what I would change"). I mentioned both my extracurriculars as well.

Overall, it was quite dynamic, lasted for slightly more than 30 minutes. I'm basically happy with my performance as a speaker (although not sure f I said what he erally wanted to hear). My only mistake was that I didn't come up with any questions regarding the school, but I hope this isn't a killer issue.

Good info braindancer. I'm 90% sure i'm going to put in a R3 app for Tepper, and the more I read about the program the more I like it. I'm hoping the 3rd round won't be ridiculously tough since it isn't their final round.

I am a Rd 2 applicant. was waiting on an interview invite till today.

I just got an interview request this morning. I cannot believe they are sending out interview requests so late. It says that they prefer to interview on-campus. Does anybody have any information on that ? if I schedule a telephonic or alumni interview would it be badly looked upon ? Because at this point of time, if the decisions are announced on Monday, I dont know how they expect me to travel and interview oncampus.

Anybody have any thoughts on that ??
