Having a hard time making this decision. Have a 20k Scholarship for Tepper bringing to ~45k/year, and paying out of state at McCombs ~55k/year. Currently in Technology Consulting in Washington DC. Would like to end up in either Consulting (Washington DC - Have a return offer for this already) or Technology (Bay Area - Both place well here) after graduation. Rankings are about equivalent. Both will have new facilities this upcoming fall. Location/culture seems to be a big differentiator (Austin great weather, great scene; Pittsburgh cold, very different social scene). But I feel as if the Carnegie Mellon - Tepper brand is a lot stronger than the Texas - McCombs brand. Also feel like the curriculum at Tepper is much more quantitative and tech-focused which is a plus.

Both great programs that will allow you to secure the jobs you are looking for. UT is obviously in a more social and warmer city so that is a factor, how important is that to you? Tepper is probably a bit stronger in tech and has a more quant focused reputation and student body, my question here is whether the quant bit is very appealing to you. If you feel that this is a major development goal then Tepper might be the play for you
