Hi KyleWiddison,

Thank you for taking the time reading my forum post and replying to it. I do agree with you, I think I need to study the fundamentals.

Considering that I will be done school in 5 days for good and I will have plenty of time on my hand, I have decided to take a break and start studying for gmat about 4-6 hours a day. I tend to do better on a test if I study more in a shorter period of time ( based on my previous experience with other tests). Would you think that I could raise my score by roughly 100-150 in 5-6 weeks ?
From scale of 1-10 how much do you recommend Manhathan books? ;)

to be honest, i feel like with kaplan, they mainly teach the test takers how to be a good test takers( i.e eliminating choices, thinking efficiently) Not much of fundamentals.

Thank you

Let me put it this way, I wish I had access to Manhattan GMAT materials when I studied for the GMAT because it would have reduced my study time DRAMATICALLY. Our materials are squarely focused on a foundational approach to the content. Test management principles are very important, but they are by far the most effective when someone has a solid understanding of the content that is being tested.

I can't say if you will get that sort of improvement in 6 weeks, but I will say that it is possible. Get some books and focus on building your foundation, then use the exams and other tools to focus on improving your areas of weakness.

Best of luck!

Are you sure about this? More time generally is a good thing when preparing for a test (although there's something like "too much time" as well). This might be something you want to take a look at, especially if you plan on working on the basics.
