These are rare but they happen for logistical reasons.
Sometimes the test center may have some maintenance happening or another nonstandard event. It’s pretty annoying and inconvenient when it does happen but this tend to be quite rare. Sounds like this happened to you?

Hi dtxgmat,
As bb mentioned, cancellations are generally rare. Sometimes we see a bunch of cancellations if there's an issue with a particular centre (the centre closes temporarily or permanently).
By the way, which centre in Gurgaon is this? Generally, it's a good idea to avoid (if possible) the Ansal (now Sushant) University centre in Gurgaon.
