Hi nycgirl212,

With a Q46/V36, you have a greater opportunity to pick up points in the Verbal section than in the Quant section, but since that section is the last part of the Exam, you're more likely to be tired (and prone to making little mistakes, not taking enough notes, etc. as a result). Since you don't really have time to learn any new Tactics or master any particular areas of the Exam, you might look to Triage at certain points (make some 'trades' on Test Day). By quickly dumping a few truly hard/weird prompts, you should have enough extra time to properly answer all of the other questions in the section. Trading one really tough question (that you're probably not going to get correct anyway) so that you can be sure to correctly answer 2-3 other questions is a great 'trade' and could absolutely be enough to get you to a 700+ score.

Good advice, thanks. I too was thinking, tomorrow I'd focus on Verbal. Practice lots of CR and RC to really stick with that momentum that I've picked up. I'm going to refresh some math things too, just so I don't lose what I have so far (will mainly do that stuff tonight). Totally agree with you on the being tired by the end of verbal, so was actually thinking of sort of blowing off IR to conserve as much brain power as possible early on. Not saying I'd guess on all IR questions completely, but kind of only do a couple really, and then just guess on the last 5 (I know its not adaptive), but just to mentally relax. I'd rather get a 4-5 with less effort than shoot for a 7 or so and use up my energy.

What do you think of that?

Hi nycgirl212,

"Taking it (relatively) easy" during the IR section is fine, but the GMAT is still going to take about 4 hours to complete (from the moment you walk through the Test Center door) no matter how well you do on IR. Part of performing well on Test Day is about staying calm, making good decisions and doing the necessary work to correctly answer the gettable questions. You almost certainly know everything that you need to know to get a 700+ score, so now you have to deliver up to your potential.
