I am 6 years out of school and plan on taking the GMAT this summer.
I had bought prep software shortly after graduating, Kaplan LSAT/GMAT/GRE 2005 Platinum edition to be specific so I dug it out and popped it in planning on going through it as a warm up for OG and the manhattan series.
I thought the diagnostic would be best if I took it cold so I gave it a shot.
I scored a 630, did have a few timing issues I think I could learn to eliminate.
All said the program scored me a Q41, V36.
My timing issues caused me to rush on a few RCs and to entirely miss one quant quesiton(wasted time remembering how to do something).
What I was wondering is whether others have used this software and what they thought a reasonable improvement target is.
My original target was 730 on the actual exam.
Is it reasonable to expect to improve 100 points through preparation?
My concern is that I don't have a whole lot of room to improve the quant (If I'm on point I shouldn't have a problem with a Q50).
What is a reasonable/average increase from initial diaganostics?
