IMO E

Parallel comparison: that the new manager editor rose ... is more ... than that she is ...

That the new managing director editor rose from the publications soft news sections to a leadership position is more of a landmark in the industry than her being a woman.

A. her being a woman --> unparallelism
B. being a woman is --> unparallelism
C. her womanhood --> unparallelism
D. that she was a woman --> was is incorrect. Woman is a state lasting forever, not just in the past
E. that she is a woman --> the best
