We can straight away remove D and E
we do not have a comparison so the comparative and superlative degrees can not be used.

C. does not make sense the usage of with is incorrect
with is normally used to denote something "accompanied by" so, trapping is low with higher alligator births is incorrect

between A and B
I do not think we can differentiate much between since and as
B is passive
so , A should be preferred

Hi B changes meaning slightly because of since. It seems to suggest that the birth rates are high since habitats have been restored to their natural state. So habitat improvement is not direct cause but the intended meaning is not this.
A is much better as the causal relationship is clearly implied by use of as.

There is nothing to compare ‘birth rates’ against, so the comparative verbform makes no sense.

This put D and E out instantly.



‘with’ in C implies a connection between low trapping and high alligator birth rates that does not exist. Its out.



A and B are correct, but B is passive and wordier, so I think A is the better choice.

for answer choice A. I thought "as" is only used for comparison and giving example ("such as")? can anyone please explain to me the usage of "as"?
