If Italy's military expenditures were to double and Germany's were to halve, the world's overall military expenditures would approximately_____________.
- Consider 100 as the total expenditure.
- Doubling Italy expenditure will increase the total by 2.3 (102.3)
- Halving German expenditure will decrease the total by 1.4
- New total: 102.3-1.4 = 100.9 ~ increase by 1%.
Answer: C

If there are exactly 120 countries in the "Others" portion of the graph, the average military expenditure of one of these countries would be approximately_____________% of that of the USA.

- Avg expenditure of a country in other category: ~25/120=5/24
- % of other country expenditure over USA expenditure: (5/24 * 100/42) = 0.5%
