Average of two numbers = 2x
Sum of two numbers = \(2 \times 2x = 4x\)

The average of two numbers is 2x. If one of the numbers is y, the other number must be

(A) x + y
(B) 2x + y
(C) 4x + y
(D) 2x- y
(E) 4x - y

avg = 2x
sum = 2[2x]
y + q =2[2] x
q = 2[2] x - y
