answer is 60

addtion to average by teacher = 500 gms = .5 kg

So teacher's weight = 40+40*.5

= 60 kg

weight of class = 1600
teacher added
1600+x = 40.5 * 41
x= 60.5
IMO C

Since 500 g = 0.5 kg and if we let T = the teacher’s weight, we can create the equation:

(40 x 40 + T)/41 = 40 + 0.5

(1600 + T)/41 = 40.5

1600 + T = 1660.5

T = 60.5

Answer: C
