The chart above shows the call breakdown for the service center of telecommunications company X for the 4 year period 1999-2002. What percent of the calls to the service center in 2001 were complaints?
(1) A total of 7680 complaint and recommendation calls were made to the service center, of which complaints outnumbered recommendations 2 to 1.
(2) The number of recommendations for the year 2001 were twice what they were for the year 2000, but were outnumbered by complaints 2 to 1.

We can answer the question if we can find \(x \) as shown in the chart.
(1) A total of 7680 complaint and recommendation calls were made to the service center, of which complaints outnumbered recommendations 2 to 1.let a be \(a\) variable such that \(3a =7680 , a= 2560 \)
Thus total complaints \(= 2560*2 =5120\)
Since we know \(p\) we can find \(x \)
SUFF.(2) The number of recommendations for the year 2001 were twice what they were for the year 2000, but were outnumbered by complaints 2 to 1.The # of Recommendations for 2001 were \(20, \) Hence there were \(40\) complaints.
\(x=40 \)

Hope it's clear.
