I almost didn't submit my MBA application because I kept rewriting my essay from scratch.
After going through the process myself (and now reviewing 50+ applications), I see the same 3 essay traps killing strong candidates:
01 Writing for the school, not yourself Adcoms read thousands of essays. The ones that stick are brutally honest about who the person is, not what they think the school wants to hear.
02 The vague "leadership" story No stakes. No real conflict. No decision made under genuine pressure. If your story could apply to anyone, it's not doing its job.
03 Burying the "Why MBA" This isn't about courses you want to take. It's a crisp career narrative: where you've been, where you're going, and why an MBA is the bridge, not a detour.
I'm offering 3 free essay audits this week. Drop your target school in the comments or DM me. Happy to take a look, no pitch.
