total area = 12 * 4 + 12 *4 = 96
96 * 2 = 192 IMO D

Bunuel highlighted part seems to be an error..
If all the sides meet at right angles and 1 meter by 1 meter 6

Area of the figure= area of the horizontal rectangle+area of vertical rectangle=
Since horizontal rectangle has length= 16-4=12 and width=4, area =12*4=48m2
area of vertical rectangle =12*4=48 m2
Total area=48+48=96 m2
no. of tiles needed= area of figure/area of 1 tile=96/1=96
cost of 1 tile= 2\$
So, total cost= 2*96=192\$
