The figure shows parallelogram \(ABCD\) where \(AB = 6, AD = y, ∠ABC = 70^o\) and \(∠ACD = 85^o\). If the perimeter of \(ABCD\) is \(28\) what is the value of \(x + y\)?

first angle B and D are the same and you have 2 of 3 angles thus x=180-70-85=25

P=28
AB=6

2y=28-2*6
y=8

8+25=33

Since the perimeter of \(ABCD\) is \(28\), we have \(2(6 + y) = 28, 12 + 6y = 28, 6y = 16\) or \(y = 8.\)

We have \(x = 180 – (70 + 85) = 25.\)

Thus, \(x + y = 25 + 8 = 33.\)

Therefore, B is the answer.
