Since \(AB\) and \(AC\) are tangent lines to the circle, we have \(AB = AC.\)

Since the triangle \(ABC\) is isosceles with \(AB = AC,\) we have \(∠ABC = (\frac{1}{2})(180-∠BAC) = 70^o.\)

Therefore, D is the answer.
Answer: D

Hi, Could you tell why ABC is isosceles?

[GMAT math practice question]

The figure shows that the lines \(AB\) and \(AC\) are the tangential lines to the circle \(O\). What is \(∠ABC\)?

A. \(55^o\)

B. \(60^o\)

C. \(65^o\)

D. \(70^o\)

E. \(75^o\)

Angle ABC = Angle ACB = x

2x + 40 = 180
x= 70

IMO D
