Between A and D.. I eliminated A option because which is redundant there. As the golden state bridge ,which is built or the golden state bridge, built mean the same. In the latter situation built is a past participle modifier and it refers to the noun preceding to it.

And which too does the same. So I eliminated the former and chose the D option.


Experts please validate.

Please post the source of the question. This looks like a poorly worded question.

The meaning of the question doesn't make much sense.
The phrase " connecting San Francisco to the Pacific Ocean" can niether refer to Golden Gate Bridge NOR to the North American Strait.
A bridge cannot connect A City to an Ocean.
A strait connects two water bodies, so it cannot connect a City to an ocean either.
