• From the graph, we can easily see that the longest segment in each bar belongs to HVAC, making it the biggest energy consumer. Its consumption per month ranges from approximately 200 kWh to 300 kWh.
Drop-down 2
• Each HVAC segment, ranging from 200 to 300 kWh, is less than — or in some cases equal to — half of the corresponding bar height but well above 20%. Fortunately, the drop-down options are spread far enough apart that we don’t need to calculate precisely. We can safely choose 40% as the best estimate.

1. It is pretty easy to tell from the graph that HVAC is the biggest energy consumer, using up energy that starts at 140 and going up to 300 or 450 kWh mark depending on the month.
2. We can take 350 as the average marker, and subtract 100 as the average starting point to get 250 kWh as HVAC consumption. Out of about 600, 250 is 40'ish % and since options are very generous between 20%, 40%, and 60%, it would be closer to 40% than any of the other 2 options. You can also use more rounded numbers and still arrive at the correct answer. For example, you can use 200 out of 600 and arrive at 33%, which is still closer to 40% than 20% or 60%. You can also use your eye!
