Let me answer this question.

1) At the end of the 11-month period, the number of animals in the population was less than
the number of animals in the population at the beginning of the period.
Reason: In all the months Died numbers were higher than born. So after 11 months total no. of animals will decrease.

2) The monthly totals of births and deaths resulted in a net population increase in none of the months.
Reason: Because at no month born number was more than died. (Black line (born) was always less than blue (died))

just look at the graph for every month death number is always greater than born number so this will lead to population decrease and in similar way for second line "none" as increase never happened at any given month.

consider the areas, like an integral. if the area under the curve and is greater, it means that the sum of each data point from the beginning to the end is greater. in this case the area of the "death" is greater than the area of "born", thus the sum of the baby born in the period is less than the sum of the death in the priod. thus we can conclude that the population shrinked in the period

1. Net population change over the 11 months
Compare the number of births and deaths each month to calculate the net change
Total net change = sum of all net changes = -60 -55 -20 -85 -35 -10 -5 + 0 + 0 -10 -5 = -285
=> The number of animals at the end was less than the number at the beginning.
Had the net change been positive, we would have marked "greater than" here.

2. Months with net population increase (more births than deaths)
There is no month where the number of births exceeded the number of deaths. At best, the numbers were equal (months 8 and 9). => None of the months
