My answer is (C). It took me 01:17.

The verb in the sentence ("has made") is singular. Eliminate (BDE) because their subjects are plural.

The difference between (A) and (C) lies in the choice between "increase of" and "increase in".

We use the preposition "in" after the noun "increase" to talk about what increases. As for the preposition "of" after this noun, we use it with a number or percentage; the amount by which something is increased. (Read more at https://ell.stackexchange.com/questions ... ncrease-of)

Eliminate (A) and pick (C).

The increase of availability and use of digital scanners and electronic mail has made paper documents in many offices obsolete.

Project SC Butler

For SC butler Questions Click Here

It's a classic SV agreement question.

As we have "has made".... The subject must be singular

A. increase of availability and
B. increases of availability and
C. increase in availability and
D. increases in availability and
E. increases of availability and the increases of

We can eliminate B,D,E directly.

The battle is between A & C

Meaning : Increace in the usage of digital scanners & its's avaliabllty. Hence IMO C.

Incase of A the subject can compound subject... It can't take singular verb.
