The Key to GMAT Retake Prep at the Last Minute (ie. Targeting Round 1)

The key is shifting the balance toward improving your in-test process.
It doesn't matter if your weaker area is quant or verbal (or you need to improve both). The most important thing to remember is that the likelihood of success is much lower if you go back to the same way of preparing (practice problems on your own and practice tests). Simply go through problems then reviewing the solutions is only going to give you tiny incremental improvements.
The big gains to be had within weeks is by improving the processes you follow ACROSS quant questions or ACROSS verbal questions. There are specific process areas that can impact your effectiveness on ALL the questions in Quant or others that impact all the questions you face in each area of verbal.
Every test taker I've worked with has had uncultured score points due to gaps in their process for solving quant and verbal questions. What's most amazing is how quickly those can be improved with the right combinations of targeted skills drills (repeatedly practicing each core process element) and testing simulation (a coach observing and improving your approach to taking a live practice test).
