Indeed, taking the GMAT requires a dedicated conditioning of both the mind and body to maintain focus over the 4 hour test. The optional breaks are crucial to give our minds a much needed breather.

Additionally, there have been stories of GMAT possibly allowing candidates to structure the sections in the exam in any way they want in the coming future. This might be beneficial for you - structuring the GMAT such that IR and AWA only appear at the last 30 min of the exam
