Note:- An angle at the circumference of a circle is half the angle at the center standing on the same arc.
The length of a chord a circle is equal to the radius of the circle, implies that the central angle made by the arc AB is 60. ( If center is 'O', then OA=OB=AB, OAB is an equilateral triangle).

So, applying the noted property, the angle which this chord subtends in major segment of the circle is equal to $$\frac{60}{2}$$=30 degree
