Original volume = L*B*H
Altered volume = 1.20*0.80*L*B*H

Now,
= (Altered volume / Original Volume) * 100
= (1.20*0.80*L*B*H / L*B*H) * 100
= (0.96*L*B*H / L*B*H) * 100
= 96 %

Hence, B.

Original Rectangle :

length = 100

width = 100

Area - 100 *100 = 1000

Altered rectangle :

length = 120

width = 80

Area = 960

Required % = (960 /1000) * 100 = 96%

The original volume is LWH.

The new volume is L x 1.2 x W x 0.8 x H = 0.96LWH

So the volume of the altered box is 0.96LWH/LWH = 96% of the volume of the original box.
