Anyone know if there is a similar thread for Harvard? I've heard they are releasing their round 3 invitations/dings today.

Sorry Batman, that's a shame.

It indeed is. I attended the info session in London a while back and was strongly encouraged to apply given my experience/background.

Now the long wait to Insead/IMD decisions begins.

Good luck all.

I wonder why MiF, not Sloan program. With all the finance experience, you should be good with finance concepts fairly. With all the project management experience, you should be ready for senior management role. Sloan program should be perfect for you.

Anyhow, all the best for your IMD plans.

A question for you. How are you accounting for your long experience while applying to INSEAD?

Another older applicant here at 33/m/Indian/IT.

batman,

Please excuse me. I think I got confused your profile with another profile having 12.5 years experience in Finance.

I am sorry for your LBS outcome. All the best for INSEAD and IMD.

Quick question on the LBS interview policies. What percentage of applicants are interviewed? I ask because it would be nice to have some idea of admission chances once at the interview stage.

hey,

I got a ding!

With the mail saying this :-

Should I reapply?

This is a decision for you, but you should know that we do specifically invite those candidates we actively wish to reapply when they receive their decision e-mail. You should also note that competition for places is tough each year.

You may like to consider applying for one of the other world-class programmes offered by London Business School, such as those available through our Executive Education portfolio.
In particular, our Emerging Leaders Programme may be of interest to you. This intensive three week programme is designed for high potential individuals in, or about to take on their first management role, and who are looking to fast-track their career progression. For information on applying for this or one of our other Executive Education programmes, contact xxx or zzz in our Professional Development Team on +44 aaaa, email bbbb or visit https://www.london.edu/programmes/execut ... ramme.html

any suggestions.

regards,
madzy

What up, all. Got an invite for the interview for R3 (april). Question for those who have interviewed already. Do we need to be clear about what concentration we want for the course (entrepreneurship, finance, management?) during that interview, and are we bound by it from day one, or can we switch once we get into the programme. I for one have no idea what I want to focus on, but assume we can figure that out once we go along the programme? any thoughts?

Got an interview invite from Beijing nearly 10 hours before! Very happy since it's the second interview in this application season.

also anxious about how many have been invited in the Chinese applicant's pool

In case if you are still checking this thread,

Internship is one of the important thing to land a job in MC. It enhances the chances by multi fold. Oxford MBA does not have internship in the middle of the program. Another important thing is that LBS consulting club seems to be buzzing with a lot of activity. I have not checked Oxford completely yet. If you do not have something similar in Oxford, then it will be another crucial factor to consider.

You had your points right apart from these. Any big MBA would help until the doors and it is the individuals from then on.

While you guys wait for your admit decisions, I have a question for you... I got an admit to Oxford Said and I was in the process of applying for LBS R2. Now I am beginning to think twice about applying.

Since making a decision is always based on individual needs / objectives, I'll list mine: I have 8 yrs experience in the media and publishing business (in the US) on the business dev and strategy side. Long term I want to work with digital media and technology (hardware/software) firms on monetizing their products and services. I am very open to global opportunities. If not directly with the product firm, I am looking to work at strategy consulting firms who have media and tech clients.

I am not able to find a significant advantage of LBS over Oxford in getting me into the roles I want to pursue. Granted LBS is definitely superior to Oxford in its ranking and employer appeal as a top 10 MBA - but from what I gauge, the school helps as far as getting that interview, after which it's your capabilities all the way.

I am trying to decide if its worth the $50k difference (Oxford deposit, application fee, tuition fee diff, cost of expense of living in London for more time than at Oxford) plus the minimum 6 months of additional school work.

Any thoughts... from those who went through any sort of analysis or had conversations with other LBS/Oxford students?

I guess what I am looking for is:
- Is the LBS name going to make a difference every step of the way in my career over an Oxford name?
- If I interviewed with McKinsey along with an LBS candidate, would he get the preference all things considered equal?
- Does having an LBS stamp influence a potential employee over an Oxford stamp?

Any thoughts... opinions... would be appreciated.

Cheers...

To avoid any confusion - Oxford does have an internship option (15 months programme), you can check more at this link:

thanks a lot for this information. It is very useful. Somehow, I thought June-Sep internship means fag end of the course. It sounds encouraging.

Do you know if it is the case with Cambridge (15 month)?
