Anyone kindly explain why D is incorrect.
According to me 2 independent clauses are joined using comma and an and.
TIA

Hello ShaikhMoice,

We hope this finds you well.

To answer your query, the use of "and" in Option D slightly alters the meaning.

The use of "and" implies that Madhavi Mudgal being "the epitome of elegance and grace" and her style blending "ancient Hindustani traditions with a modern sensibility" are two separate actions.

Option B uses a colon to join the two clauses, conveying a more logical meaning - that Madhavi Mudgal is the epitome of elegance and grace in that her style blends ancient Hindustani traditions with a modern sensibility; remember, the colon is used to join two independent clauses, when the second acts as an explanation to the first.

Thus, B is superior.

We hope this helps.
All the best!
