Is the OA -D?

Again depending on the statement "A majority" might take a plural verb

For usage of A majority

The majority is singular – eliminate C, D and E

A. is unable, or either unwilling [either or incorrect use – eliminate it]
B. is either unable or unwilling [Hold it]
C. are unable, or either unwilling
D. are either unable or unwilling
E. are unable or unwilling, either way,

Answer: B


a majority is always plural - so we require plural verb

a majority is always plural - so we require plural verb

thanks for the " a majority" rule. anyway OA is D because if "the majority" is plural when followed by a specification, such as "of the students"

Two things.
The patron majority is - singular
The majority of patrons are- plural .

usage of either:
Either X and Y - idiomatic , X and Y has to be parallel.

Oops – missed the point.
Ex: The student’s majority is singular.
The majority of students is plural.

Thanks for correcting though.
