IS A the Answer..A Tough choice between A and B....The unavailability of "THE" before continued made me to lean towards "preserving the continued use" as in B, But again there was a Parallelism error in B....

A should be the answer.
The equal importance of the preservation ...and study of... is best conveyed with the idiom as... as.... Therefore, C,D,E are out. B breaks the parallellism "to preserving... to the study of..."
