Recall that if y varies inversely with x, we let k = the constant of proportionality, and we set up the following equation:
y = k * (1/x) = k/x
For this question, we can create the equation:
4000 = k/21,000
k = 4000 * 21,000
Now we can let x = the number of two wheelers sold when 6000 four wheelers were sold and create the equation:
6000 = (4000 * 21,000) / x
6000x = 4000 * 21,000
6x = 4 * 21,000
x = 14,000
Answer: E
