(B) Denvo city had seven multiplexes out of which three have shut down in the last five years. This is aligned with what we thought. The number of multiplexes has gone down, owing to which people are congesting the remaining multiplexes

The number of people in Denvo city who like to watch movies in multiplexes has apparently increased considerably. Over the last five years it has become difficult to find seats in most multiplexes in Denvo City.
Over the last five years, we can’t get seats in multiplexes. It’s said that - the number of people who watch movies has increased considerably. That’s the influx of new people to the multiplexes were the reason for seat’s unavailability.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument? We need to find something reason to justify that seat unavailable is not due to new customer inflow.
(A) Several blockbuster movies were released in the last five years.
It can be a reason, but this can’t be seriously weaken the argument. Out of scope.
(B) Denvo city had seven multiplexes out of which three have shut down in the last five years.
Interesting option - closure of three multiplexes have channelised the crowd to other running multiplexes. Making it hard to find seats. Remember, the user segment remains the same. It’s the channeling of existing user, which has led to seat unavailability.
(C) Many residents of Denvo city have stated in a survey that they hate going out for movies.
Irrelevant option.
(D) The ticket prices charged by multiplexes in Denvo city have fallen over the past five years.
Lower ticket prices could lead to more people attending movies in multiplexes, which would make the difficulty in finding seats more understandable. This would actually support the argument rather than weaken it.
(E) It is very easy to find seats in multiplexes situated in the neighbouring Vento city
Another option which is out of scope. If vento city attracted users, then seats availability should not be a concern.
