Let the present age of Anamika's father be x
Anamika's age = x/3
Madhuri's age = M
After 8 years:
Anamika's father = x + 8
Madhuri = M + 8
Given: x + 8 = 2(M+8)
Also given, M - 2 = 18, M = 20
x + 8 = 2*28
x = 48
So, Anamika's age = x/3 = 48/3 = 16
IMO, (A)!

Let us assume Father's present age \(= 3x\) and Anamika's present age \(= x\).
We are told that Madhuri’s eighteenth birthday was celebrated two years ago. This means Madhuri's present age \(= 18+2=20.\)
We are also told that Anamika’s father’s age will be twice of Madhuri’s age after 8 years. This means we can write: \(3x+8=2\times (20+8)\)
\(⇒ 3x+8=2\times 28\)
\(⇒ 3x+8=56\)
\(⇒ 3x=48\)
\(⇒ x=16\)
So, Anamika's present age \(= x=16\)
Hence the right answer is Option A.
