The printing press, which Johannes Gutenberg developed in the mid-fifteenth century, shortened from months to days the necessary time of publishing a book.

A. from months to days the necessary time of publishing a book
"from months to days" would convey the meaning better if used after " the necessary time of publishing a book"

B. the time being necessary to publish a book, from months to days
"being" is modifying time here. not necessary to convey the meaning

C. the time being necessary to publish a book, months to days
same as B. also "months to days"??

D. the time needed to publish a book from months to days
seems clear

E. from months to days, the time needed for the publishing of a book
"to publish" is better than "for the publishing "
